In 2004, the founders of Big Ox canned oxygen set out to create a portable oxygen product that could accommodate today's busy, on-the-go lifestyles. Each owner had their own individual experiences with stationary oxygen bars commonly found in airports, casinos and vacation destinations. They were impressed with the effect the increased oxygen had in escalating their energy and alertness levels, but wished they could experience this healthy boost of oxygen whenever and wherever they desired. Just like them, they knew if given the choice, most people would prefer the ease and availability of a portable form of oxygen. The founding group desired a can of oxygen that could be used out and about while at the ski lodge, on the hiking trail, at home or in the gym or office. With this goal in mind, they set out to create more than just a standard oxygen product, but one that surpassed all other canned or stationary oxygen dispensers in price and portability.

Working hand in hand with experts, they developed a product that not only exceeds the oxygen content of many of the stationary oxygen bars, but one that tastes good: Big Ox canned oxygen. Launched in May of 2006, Big Ox delivers a pure, refreshing blast of 89 percent oxygen-enriched air in every can the normal air we breathe only provides 21 percent oxygen. In addition, Big Ox is the only oxygen product formulated with a patented flavor cap that releases refreshing Big Ox flavors, such as Mountain Mint, Tropical Breeze, Polar Rush and Citrus Blast, simultaneously but separately from the oxygen in the can ensuring the product is received in its purest form.
